EMPOWERING
THE MINDS OF TOMORROW

THE DEPARTMENT

Led by passionate university students, researchers and professionals who share a common fascination with the complexity of the human brain and its implications on mental health, the Cognitive Science department is a vibrant and dynamic hub within Operation Twelve dedicated to expanding the scope of the research regarding the intricate interplay of cognition, behavior, society and mental health in underprivileged settings, with a focus on the Middle-Eastern context.

By studying the mind from its multiple cognitive functions, including memory, attention and executive function, and taking advantage of the field of cognitive science’s synergy drawn from psychology, biology and neuroscience, we are committed to engaging university students in cutting-edge research projects, providing valuable insights to inform and support individuals affected by similar situations, fostering an environment where curiosity thrives and ideas are nurtured, and making a positive difference in the lives of others – both students’ research experience and the larger community.

We also foster networking opportunities and mentorship for aspiring scientists and researchers to gain knowledge specific to their fields of interests that lie within the multidisciplinary scope of the cognitive and behavioral sciences.
